Yodit Tibebu was featured at the September 2011 French Culture Nights Event
Yodit’s interest in fashion came at a young age. Growing up in Addis Ababa, she and her sisters had the same kind of clothes. Since she always wanted to dress differently, she slowly started to tweak them. Yodit moved to the US. Her dream was to study at FIT in New York City; so she moved there. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she freelanced for established designers while creating her own label. In September of ’07, Yodit made her fashion show debut in Ethiopia. Yodit loves to create and her passion is mostly for evening and sportswear. Her inspiration comes from fabric and color while maintaining her love for natural fabrics. Yodit’s designs are best described as modern yet classic while simple and elegant.
