Pastries on the Park

Let’s see… heavenly croissants, madeleines, countless other authentic French pastries and perfect macarons at a reasonable price?  Sounds like too much to ask, I know, but the new bakery, Mille-feuille, just south of Washington Square park in Manhattan, near the heart of New York University’s bustling campus is worth the trek downtown any day.

Hailed as the home of “the best croissants in Manhattan” by none other than “French Women Don’t Get Fat” author, Mireille Guiliano, Mille-feuille is owned and operated by French pastry chef, Olivier and offers a beautiful selection of organic pastries made on site.  He works in an open kitchen, so customers have a rare opportunity to see a highly skilled pastry chef at work!  They also feature a few sandwiches if you need more than just a sweet fix.

The salted caramel macarons and the Almond Pear Tart are truly gems not to be missed.  They also cater, so a big plus there for holiday party season!

If you find yourself downtown, give this new little French treasure a shot.
